In this source Maria Konnikova discusses how typing destroys children’s ability to learn. She writes that when children’s learn to write by hand it activates 3 part of our brain that is crucial in child’s development. Children are able to learn quickly, generate ideas, and better retain information. Isn’t why we read and write to study in first place. She also points out that it is harmful for older people too. We’ve moved to digital world but i don’t think children should start using computers at very young age. This can be useful for my research paper because i’m writing on how blogging, twits and facebook posts have destroyed shattered people’s mind to write big papers and forgot about their vocabulary skills.
Today’s generation using more slang in their sentence than actual vocabulary has decreased the rate of literacy. Are social media sites here to blame?
I found this blog on Blog lovin’ with the title “technology rocks. seriously.” In this blog she writes about new features on different websites or devices and how you can use them. To give you guys example, her latest post is on “text notification from Google calender”. She guides the readers on how to use that feature. My bog will not be as same as her. In my blog i will write more about different devices and giving reviews, pros and cons. I will write about useful features about that device and how it can help in daily life. Things like phones, tablets, and other devices. I will also write on new software coming out and rate them, pros and cons. Software like new IOS 8 apple came out with, specifications on it. I will talk numbers to give you guys all details about it. And in the end I will put “bottom-line” to summarize my thoughts on it.
There are other websites like Cnet review and some youtube websites that also looks at the new tech gears coming out and talk about them. I don’t know how mine will different from theirs because frankly speaking i haven’t looked them. So i don’t know what do they talk about the most when they give reviews. As far as i know, they just give details on the device. I will try to stay away from that path, not put lots of posts that just gives you numbers on it, if i talk numbers i will compare other similar devices to tell you guys which device is better.
I’m not a huge fan of writing, therefore i have never done any blogging. I know the basic concepts of blogs. Blogs are basically for people who wants to express their opinion on some event. I don’t like reading either so i haven’t read any blogs. But i do watch reviews and critics views on certain product either at CNET reviews or on youtube channels such as mobiletechreviews and Engadget. Hopefully, after this class i will have more idea about blogging and it can make me more enthusiastic about writing.
I’m more of a technical person and i love reading news about new technology coming out and i have a separate news app on my phone just for that. Therefore, i would like blog about my opinion on new technologies coming out such as iphone6 and other products.
My second choice would be on crisis in middle east. I think this a really hot topic right now. I don’t follow all the news reports so by choosing this topic i will be forced to look in to this matter and have more knowledge on the world around me.
Third topic i would like is to be on future gadgets, things people are working on (not out in market). how can it change our future? This topic is more on the same line as the first topic but like i said i’m technical person and i’m really passionate about technology.
I will be more than happy to work on any of this ideas, i would prefer the first one.
I’m Krupal Suthar. I’m a major in computer science. When i was a kid, i always wanted to know how things worked, and was fasinated to know what goes behind the scenes. I always wanted to know how computer works, and how to make applications.
when I was a teenager, i naiivly searched “how to make a program”. The amount of sites i got in seconds blew my mind. At that time i started asking questions how did google find so many sites, what algorithms did they use.
In my free time i like to program. This summer i tried to enhance my programming skills by learning new programming languages. My new goal/motivation is to learn android programming so i can make cool apps.
