If i was monetizing my blog the ones I could see myself applying are mainly donations. Being a fitness blog that incorporates a lot of my personal experience will only make sense to ask for donations. Along with donations I’ll defiantly include ads that has to do with fitness. For example, including ads for Nike shoes. Pay-per-click(PPC) sounds like it’ll benefit my fitness blog since google automatically targets site content and ones audience. All together, donations and ads I feel is enough to have throughout my blog as I wouldn’t want to cram it and make my followers feel all I want is money.

A positive nontraditional use of blogging that might be a success would have to be a network blog of felons that have been just released from prison. Coming back into society could be difficult at times especially those that have served long prison time and haven’t seen the outside of cells for a while. Convicts usually re-offense at a 66% rate so being able to cope with different factors could be beneficial. The readers that will have access to the blog would be recent convicts as well as their families. We believe allowing families to see what recently release convicts say or are thinking will allow the families to adjust to their needs. The only people that will have permission to write for the blogs would be ex convicts. Individuals who haven’t been through the criminal justice system haven’t experience the same thing that these convicts have been through. Also we’ll make the blog anonymous so nothing could be tracked back to these individuals in the near future because even if he or she could rehabilitate after prison at some point the individual will have to look for a job, which employers will dig through one’s history.
Hopefully having enough users won’t be a problem because ex-convicts might not want to share their personal experience in prison for many different reasons. For example, an ex-convict might not want to tell his or her story because it will show that the individual is weak. Hence, the blog will have the option in posting anonymous or not. Giving this option will allow ex-convicts to feel welcome to share their story and experiences. The blog will traditional look like a regular blog with a forum to allow users to ask any questions or reflect on certain posts. The blog will be successful by the users who participate in it so maybe rewarding the audience by having giveaways and prizes would be a smart idea. Establishing a connection with the ex-convicts and the audience is the most important aspect of this blog. Well have to plan and be careful that no information or story is leaked out and that the context shared within the blog remains in the blog. The blog won’t be open to the public rather the public will be able to only comment or ask questions referring to different posts.
Everyone could read the blog and we will actually promote it through social medias so more and more convicts could see they have somewhere to turn after prison life.
Remaining anonymous will affect different readers of blogs differently from one reader to the next. Personally, I enjoy reading blogs without knowing who wrote it because it allows my thoughts to go in whatever direction as I wish. Instead of reading what the blogger might think and following his or her direction I actually like not knowing much. Not knowing anything won’t affect my reading mainly because I’ll enjoy the freedom of being able to take the thoughts/ideas of the blogger and incorporate it into my beliefs. Even though there are disadvantages of not personally knowing who wrote the blogs like not being able to communicate or contact the indidivual I feel you could get away with that at certain times and it isn’t such a big deal.
The freedom behind the thought process allows an individual to think what he or she wants. Being anonymous isn’t always a bad thing and people usually do it in order to obtain as many followed without getting into trouble for it. For example, how we talked about the waiter and how he couldn’t post where he was located along with his post so he could keep his identity a secret. Certain blogs are the reasons why people become anonymous because usually if the indivdual isn’t he or she could find themselves getting into trouble. It also creates a boundary between the audience(readers) and the actual blogger which could be beneficial towards the blogger. Hence, we won’t imply any bias statements or thoughts so reading posts with an open mind will avoid being judgmental.
Chau, Michael, and Jennifer Xu. “Business Intelligence In Blogs: Understanding Consumer Interactions And Communities.” MIS Quarterly 36.4 (2012): 1189-1216. Business Source Premier. Web. 17 Nov. 2014.
This article/study collects and analyzes the information throughout blogs contents and bloggers interaction networks. It focuses on explaining the consumer product and also companies by researching the potential value of business intelligence.
I would consider a network blog because of the benefits it will apply. A topic I could see myself contributing to and finding others to network with would be a general sports blog like Espn. An example of this network that currently exists is SBnation. They are basically a network blog since several different writers write the posts, but you could still access each individual’s blog. I could see my network being very similar to SBnations since I enjoy watching sports on a regular basis so I’ll enjoy writing about any aspect of it. I usually watch basketball, baseball, and football so the rest of my network would have to cover the rest of the sports I don’t watch or even posts about the same topic since they’re several games a night. Thus, this is how we’ll support one another by posting about several sports and being able to cover a wide range of sports.
“Business Blogging News & Topics.” Entrepreneur. Entrepreneur Medias, 2014. Web. 09 Nov. 2014.
I found this blog, which was pretty interesting on all the topics that are mention. It actually reminded me of bleacher report in the aspect that the posts are by several different people and are categorized into different topics. For example, it mentions how you could improve your writing skills, becoming a better blogger, ideas for business blogs, and so on. The source will defiantly allow me to see how business approaches their blogs compared to regular blogs. The variety of topics will give me a great insight in business blogging.
Finally seems like I decided to show the importance and how business go about their business by using blogs. This blog talks about the benefits for a business to blog and the different effective ways that work better than others. For example, knowing the audience to target and where to target them.
P.S ill be going back through the rest of my bibliographies to find new ones since I misunderstood the topic of the paper.(also the previous bibliography I posted was 4, not 5)

Since I might be changing my papers topic, I really wasn’t sure on what source to use so I decided to look through blogging articles. With this article, I believe I’ll show how business read and try to understand blogs in order to increase their sales. It does a great job by analyzing every aspect of a blog and show how the context within a blog could really say a lot about an individual.
I actually already started to incorporate some of these suggestions on how to attract positive feedback to motivate myself throughout my fitness blog. I believe it was 2 weeks ago when you had us write down any topics that we would be writing about in the future. The exercise was defiantly useful as whenever I am about to write my posts for the week all I have to do is open up my laptop and see the ideas I wrote down. My advice would be to have it somewhere that you frequently visit just incase an idea comes to mind. For example, I have my list of ideas as a post so every time I open up my laptop I could see what I already wrote about and what I could still incorporate. For my next post I’ll like to write somewhere different as the article states it’ll build up my writing habit. An aspect I’ll like to add to my blog that I believe will attract readers are asking questions on Facebook or other social networks in order to receive different perspectives of fitness. Hence, it will allow me to compare certain parts and could even write a post about how certain workouts could be completely different just from the goal the individual has. I don’t really know how I would feel at the moment involving a twitter chat into my blog discussion or posts since it’s pretty new and I rather get insight from strangers when I’m more established.
Studying what works for your blog could defiantly go a long way in determining how successful or not the blog becomes. As the article states in number 28, examining ones analytics is important. By doing so as a blogger you could notice what topics your target audience are interested in. Once I realize this it will allow myself to come up with more creative posts that will interest the audience I have. What everything said, what I will try to bring into my own blog within this semester is using a calendar with goals throughout it. Maybe one week I have 3exams and another week I have none; so making a calendar will allow myself to see how much free time I will have to dedicate to my blog. The first thing I learn was in the first week of classes when I saved all of my blog work the night before. It probably was one of the worst ideas I’ve had since I was up nearly to 5 in the morning finishing everything up. Planning ahead will avoid not having topics to write about and allow the blog to come alive. Also I need to incorporate more videos, pictures, or aids into my post as I feel sometimes I am talking to much. I wouldn’t want to bore my audience and make them leave my blog within sections of looking at it. I still don’t have a ritual for when I write so I’ll have to come up with one as the semester goes on
Que, Vinny. Personal Interview Hector Molina. 18 October 2014.
Vinny Que was my former Personal Trainer manger at Cando Fitness in Edgewater, NJ. I haven’t seen him since last summer since I stopped working for him because of school and other obligations I had with family. Even though we don’t communcaite on an everyday basis I still go to him for any health related topics or conerns I might have. Aside from being the manger of personal trainers; Vinny also competes in professional bodybuilding. Even though Vinny doesn’t personally have a fitness blog; his knowledge both professionally and hands on is enough.
Most of the questions I asked Vinny about were his fitness journey growing up and the major struggles he had to overcome to be in the position he is now. The point of the interview was to see his views on fitness blogs and gain insight on certain topics I’ll be writing up in the future. Vinny admits that even though he personally doesn’t have a blog; he continues to come across them throughout the Internet or is told by friends and family to check theirs out. He states, “They’re everywhere, it’s a great way to keep track of your progress and a way to motivate yourself.”
Vinny emphasized that fitness comes down to mental health. How mentally strong are you day in and day out to improve from your previous day. This interview is useful because it shows the views an expert has on blogs when he doesn’t even have one. His experience in the field makes him very reliable and its great to get information from a former mentor. I cannot wait to share the answers I obtain and the insight he brought me.
