Although my past few annotated bibs have been depressing (as they highlight examples of the terrible effects of cyberbullying), there is still hope. Arturo Bejar works at Facebook and has the responsibility of creating new ways for people to report a post that they feel uncomfortable with or harassed by. Bejar’s goal is to get users to express their emotions about a post that they want removed from Facebook. In this way, he attempts to eliminate those posts and get users to speak out in situations where they feel bullied or harassed. This is important because often times, people who are bullied feel alone and that they have no one to reach out to and they feel hopeless. Bejar helps limit these feelings of loneliness and hopelessness by continually tweaking Facebook.
