“Are Bloggers Journalists?” Bloomberg Business Week. Bloomberg, 06 Mar. 2005. Web. 30 Oct. 2014.

One of the most important rights of journalists’ is that they can protect their sources. In such rulings like the Cox case and the Apple case as well it was ruled that they must divulge their sources and are not protected by freedom of press in certain circumstances. Bloggers have a known record of dis or misinformation. This is because they aren’t held to the same integral standards as journalists are held to. They are not an authority when in certain scenarios, journalists are. Journalists publish their work and have to pay consequences when information is incorrect whether its by their department or the law. Bloggers do not have the same consequences and can keep spouting misinformation if they chose to.
