Cohen, Noam. “Use My Photo? Not Without Permission.” The New York Times. The New York Times, 30 Sept. 2007. Web. 13 Oct. 2014. .
The article above discusses the use of a girl’s photo on a billboard that was originally posted online. The girl never agreed to be a part of the ad that many could see, and the ad was ridiculing her in order to advertise cellphones. Using this article as an example, I can pinpoint the fact that pictures posted online can be taken for use by anyone, even if there is no permission to actually use the photograph. I will discuss why posting pictures of your friends can end up bad for your friend based on the unfortunate event that occurred for the girl in this article.
