In this article, Colleen Corkery discusses three major blog platforms and the pros and cons of each. The three major blog platforms that she discusses are Tumblr, WordPress.com and .org, and Blogger. While you can transfer previous platforms to WordPress easily, you won’t be able to transfer your previous platform to Tumblr and for Blogger you will only be able to transfer from Blogger only. Tumblr offers the option to reblog or like, but not comment. This prevents people from voicing their opinions and gathering in-depth information. However, tumblr is very simple and interactive where the theme could be changed however one desires. The background of the blog could be anything the blogger wants while on WordPress you have to use the blogs there and you can’t even customize it that much even if you pay. With WordPress, you are able to share your blog post on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, potentially opening up your blog to everybody in the world. These simple options that are offered make it possible for one to start their own entrepreneurship for example and so much more. The consistent act of blogging molds one to be committed, independent, and self-motivated.
